Aunt Lou's Apple Cake

Apple Layer:

5-6 large apples (4-5 cups)

½ cup sugar

Cinnamon

Cake Mix:

3 cups flour

2 cups sugar

1 tsp. Baking soda

2 tsp. Baking powder

4 eggs

1 cup oil

⅓ cup orange juice

3 tsp. Vanilla extract

Preheat oven to 35o degrees.

-Grease & flour a tube pan.

-Cut-up the apples and mix in the sugar and cinnamon to make the apple layer filling. Set aside.

-Combine all Cake Mix ingredients and beat for 4 minutes.

-Layer the Cake Mixture and Apple Layer. Put ⅓ of cake mix on bottom, ½ the apple layer, then another ⅓ layer of cake mix, then second ½ of apple layer, finish with final ⅓ cake mix layer

-Bake at 350 degrees for 1½ hours

-Serve!
